Dutchland,
Inc. manufactures and constructs high quality
precast concrete systems and products. Precast
concrete, including post-tensioned concrete, is
superior to structures such as poured-in-place
concrete, shot-crete coated
structures
(ESPECIALLY AWWA D110 WATER TANKS),
steel,
and fiberglass.
|
- Precast concrete is
fabricated in a temperature controlled
environment.
- Reinforcing formations
are set up in the molds and spaced precisely as
required.
- Precast concrete walls
are cast at "finished thickness" rather then having
multiple layers applied to create a wall (called the
onion skin effect). Other tank manufacturers (AWWA D110)
build tanks in multiple layers and require a steel
diaphragm between layers to prevent leaking!
- Precast concrete is not
subject to rust associated with steel
structures.
- High maintenance costs
such as dewatering, sand blasting, coating, refilling,
and downtime are generally not associated with precast
concrete.
- Precast concrete is highly competitive and many times costs less than steel and cast-in-place concrete. This is especially true when compared to AWWA D110 tanks (the onion skin tanks).
